SEEDS OF SHARON'S VISION
Seeds of Sharon was founded in honor of Sharon Johnson, whose life was devoted to helping individuals struggling with homelessness and addiction. Inspired by her compassion and commitment to serving others, our mission is to continue her legacy by providing support, resources, and hope to individuals and families facing hardship.
We are dedicated to meeting immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter while also empowering people with the tools, life skills, and guidance necessary to rebuild their lives. Through compassion, community partnership, and service, Seeds of Sharon strives to create opportunities for stability, dignity, and long-term success.
Today and in the future, our goal is to plant seeds of hope in the lives of those we serve—helping individuals move from crisis to stability and ultimately toward independence and a brighter future.

OUR INITIATIVES
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Our initiatives are designed to provide comprehensive support to vulnerable youth and families, offering stability, skill development, and purpose. We are committed to making a lasting impact by sharing our story, showcasing our team, and emphasizing the unique approach that sets us apart in our mission to create positive change.
Food Assistance Programs
We support individuals and families facing food insecurity by distributing food boxes and hot meals. Throughout the year—especially during the holidays—we host outreach events and community meals to ensure everyone has access to nourishing food and a welcoming place to gather.
Clothing Assistance Programs
Our program offers free clothing and essential supplies to individuals and families experiencing hardship. We organize donation drives and community distribution events to connect generous donors with those who need support the most.
Homeless Outreach Program
Our Homeless Outreach Program engages directly with individuals experiencing homelessness, providing essential supplies including hygiene items, blankets, and other emergency resources. We also work to connect people with local services and support systems that can help meet their immediate and long-term needs.
Harm Reduction & Safety Outreach
Our Harm Reduction and Safety Outreach Program helps protect lives by providing overdose prevention education and life-saving resources to individuals and families in our community. Through this program, we distribute Narcan (naloxone) and provide information on how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses. We also connect individuals with local health services, treatment options, and recovery support to encourage safer outcomes and pathways toward wellness.
Youth & Family Support Program
Our Youth & Family Support Program provides assistance to homeless teens and families facing difficult circumstances. We offer mentorship, guidance, and resource navigation to help individuals access services and support systems within the community. Our goal is to help stabilize families, empower youth, and connect them with opportunities that promote safety, growth, and long-term well-being.
Transitional Shelter Program (Proposed / In Development 2027)
Our proposed Transitional Shelter Program will provide short-term housing for homeless teens and families for up to 90 days, offering a safe and supportive environment during times of crisis. Participants will receive individualized case management and guidance to help them access community resources and develop plans for long-term stability. The program will also include life skills training, employment support, and stability planning to help individuals and families move toward safe, independent living.
Community Resource & Life Skills Program
Our Community Resource & Life Skills Program helps individuals and families build the skills and knowledge needed to achieve greater stability and independence. The program will offer training in areas such as budgeting, job readiness, personal development, and navigating community resources. Through education, guidance, and supportive mentorship, we aim to empower participants with practical tools that support long-term success and self-sufficiency.
Free Thrift Store Program (2027)
Our Free Thrift Store Program will provide a welcoming community space where families can access clothing and essential items at no cost. The program not only meets immediate needs but also supports our shelter and outreach programs by connecting resources with those who need them most. Through this initiative, we aim to promote dignity, community support, and practical assistance for individuals and families facing hardship.
